Blandy – 1811 A winery was founded in John Blandy, Madeira. Blandy’s uniqueness is that it is the only surviving winery to this day that is run and owned by the descendants of the family that founded it more than 200 years ago. Blandy’s Madeira wines have been awarded many times and awarded the highest scores in international competitions and wine magazines: Wine Spectator, Wine Enthusiast and others. It is no coincidence that the Madeira wine glass was also raised in the 18th century with the signing of the US Declaration of Independence.
